This is a best man speech by my friend, Ryan Bender. His brother, Mike, married Emily in April 2008.
Details
Ryan had a lot of great stuff to say about his brother and Emily, but the speech was too long. The original was 1,564 words. My edits shrunk the word count to 834. That’s a 47 percent decrease. If Ryan spoke about 150 words per minute (which is an average speaking pace), I saved him about five minutes of speechifying.
Ryan said he received many compliments about the speech. I’m sure the guests were glad they were five minutes closer to wedding cake and the Electric Slide.
